Some hither....others yon
This show was my first experience at Nokia, despite being my 5th L7 show since 1996 in Dallas, all at different venues. The acoustics up there SUCKED, extremely boomy on the bass end, making vocals AND guitar inaudible, which was a bummer. I was on the front row of the balcony, not the SW flyers row, which would've been better.
I've been a tool fan since 1993, and I hold them to the highest standard, so this show was pretty good, but nowhere near their best. What does THAT tell you - almost two hours to play 10 songs. Yeah, I suppose if I were tripping or on any number of hallucinogens, then I might be all about 7-minute noise transitions between songs, but I wasn't and I'm not. But they played 'flood', a favorite, and a song I'd never seen before, so that's worth a star or two right there.
Nokia charging $15 to park on a lot of grass?? Seriously, that's ridiculous - let alone the $100 ticket price. It will be amazing if I ever shell out that kind of cash to go there again. I heard that the sound wasn't bad if you're lower level center, lol. Gee, I'll keep that in mind next time.
